Which surfactants suit sulfate-free formulas?
The amphoacetates (SCA 32, SLA 32, DSCADA 38), the taurate (SMCT 30), the sarcosinate (SLSA 30), and the laureth sulfosuccinate (DLSS 32) build foam and cleansing without a sulfate primary; the betaines and sultaines boost them.
Which betaine, CAPB 35 or CAPB 40?
Both are cocamidopropyl betaine; CAPB 40 carries 35 % active against 30 % for CAPB 35, for concentrated formulas and lower shipping weight. Both are quoted on active and on solids, which include the sodium chloride from manufacture.
Cetrimonium, steartrimonium, or behentrimonium?
Chain length sets conditioning weight: cetyl (CETAC 30) for light rinse-off conditioning and clear systems, stearyl (STAC 50) for creams and leave-ins, behenyl (BTAC 80) for the heaviest conditioning and damaged hair.
Which surfactants are used in toothpaste?
