Which softener base for a durable hand?
Dihydrogenated tallow dimethyl ammonium chloride (2HT 75) gives the most durable softness; the ester quat (ESQ 90) gives comparable hand with ready biodegradability; stearyl and cetyl trimethyl quats give a lighter hand and better rewettability.
Can the silane quat carry an antimicrobial claim on a textile?
Only the registered grade can. OD SIL 42 is supplied for antistatic and hydrophobic finishes with no antimicrobial claim; OD SIL 72m is in EPA review for treated-article antimicrobial use, and 2D 50e and CB 80e are registered actives that support treated-article finishes today.
Which wetter for caustic scouring?
The hydrotroping grades, sodium caprylyl sulfonate (C8S 40), capryl/capramidopropyl betaine (CCAPB 30), and disodium cocoamphodiacetate (DSCADA 38), stay soluble and wetting in strong caustic; DOSS 70 PG is the fastest wetter in neutral and mildly alkaline baths.
Do you supply low-foam grades for jet dyeing?
Yes: decylamine oxide (DAO 30) and sodium caprylyl sulfonate (C8S 40) wet and penetrate at low foam, and can be blended to a foam profile that suits the machine.
